Fund-raisers, Purpose for the Dignity/Memorial Quilt.
We would like to offer some fun ways for you to have a fund-raiser. If you have ordered a Dignity/Memorial quilt as a kit, you may sell quilting time to families and friends, and even staff members.
The Dignity Quilt is used to cover the gurney, and the body bag to exit the facility . At that point it is considered Dignity, The funeral Director will fold it up and give it back to you, you will then place it on the empty bed until the family is finished in the room. At that point it is considered Memorial. The cross and the sunset --to the religious would be a symbol of resurrection. To the non-religious
it would be nothing more than a cross and sunset. The Quilt may also be turned over, and the blank side may also be used. We call it our COOL-COOL Quilt. COOL wash, and COOL dry. Some facilities are hanging them on the wall with large strips of velcro between uses. It is completely machine quilted, so it will not bunch up or lump up.
